Our traditional harissa is also known as ‘harissa arbi’ or ‘diari’ in modern Tunisian vernacular. It is a staple found on the table and in everyday cookery. It is not a watery sauce but rather a thick, sun-dried chili paste bursting with flavor. Our traditional harissa is made by grinding rehydrated whole sun-dried chilis with fresh organic garlic and mixed with salt, a blend of coriander and caraway and organic extra virgin olive oil. The sun-drying process concentrates the juicy flavors of the chilis giving our traditional harissa a unique flavor profile that makes it such a versatile condiment.

  • INGREDIENTS: Rehydrated Whole Sun Dried Chilis, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Garlic, Coriander, Caraway, Sea Salt, Aged White Wine Vinegar
  • NOT SPICY AT ALL: This harissa has all the flavor, no heat. A good harissa comes down to the quality of its ingredients and not its spiciness level. If you are averse to spiciness, this one’s for you.
  • ANCESTRAL RECIPE: This harissa is unique because its base is made purely of whole sun-dried chilis, the traditional and tastier way. In Tunisian vernacular, it is called harissa diari (or arbi), meaning that it is the true original thick sun-dried chili paste typically found in Tunisian homes and that dates back to 17th century Northern Tunisia.
